Cedar Hill Library Redevelopment

The Cedar Hill Library and Affordable Housing Redevelopment represents a collaborative partnership with the District of Saanich. The goal is replacing the current Nellie McClung library with a new library space, complemented by the addition of affordable housing on the upper levels in Saanich.

The District of Saanich owns the property and is leading a pre-zoning process. They have entered into a Letter of Intent with the Capital Region Housing Corporation (CRHC) for redevelopment and long-term lease of the Air Space Parcel (ASP).

The development will consist of a potentially 18-storey concrete building over an underground parkade. The project contains commercial space (library) and 210 units of affordable housing atop ranging from studios to three-bedroom units. Located near schools, stores, and transit the location offers convenient access to all the amenities.

Proposed Features include:

  • 210 units affordable housing
  • Up to 18 storey concrete building
  • Studio, one, two and three-bedroom units
  • Close to parks, shopping and schools
  • Close to public transportation
  • Underground parking
  • Targeting BC Energy Step Code 4
