Affordable Housing

The CRHC offers affordable rentals for low- to moderate-income people. They may not qualify for subsidized housing.

An applicant must meet the income levels below. Total household income must be below the median set by BC Housing.

All applicants must qualify for units under each building's agreement. We will offer a rental unit only to applicants who meet these terms. 

Only families with dependent children, or couples needing a medical bedroom, qualify for 2- to 5-bedroom units.

Subsidized housing

To be eligible for subsidized housing, an applicant's income must be below certain limits. These limits are set by the Housing Income Limits (HILs). HILs are set by BC Housing. They are the income needed to pay the average market rent for an appropriately sized unit in the private market.

Families

You may qualify for subsidized family housing if you meet these criteria:

  • You are a BC resident for one continuous year
  • Your household has at least two people, including a dependent child
  • Your annual income, excluding GST and Child Tax Credit, is at or below:
    • $65,000 for 2 bedrooms
    • $82,000 for 3 bedrooms
    • $95,500 for 4 or more bedrooms

Seniors

You may qualify for subsidized senior housing if you meet all these criteria:

  • You have been a BC resident for one continuous year.
  • You are 55 or older and live on your own, or couples in which one person has reached 55.
  • You have an annual household income of or below $50,000.

Persons with disabilities

You may qualify for subsidized housing for disabled people if you meet all of these criteria:

  • You have been a BC resident for one continuous year.
  • You are receiving a permanent disability pension.
  • Those who can live independently and have a disability pension, or are disabled for tax purposes.
  • You have an annual household income of $50,000 or below.

Our buildings do not provide support services. Tenants must live independently or arrange their own care. If you are over the age of 55, you may apply for our seniors' subsidized housing. For more info on eligibility, please visit the BC Housing website.
